Conyer Cruising Club

Is a well established organisation which has been helping members to enjoy their boating since 1969. The club has no employees and is run on a voluntary basis by a management committee drawn from its 80 or so members.

The club is located in Swale Marina at the head of Conyer Creek in beautiful countryside. We and Swale Marina welcome visitors and deep mud berths are almost always available. If you are thinking of visiting us call the marina on +44 (0)1795 521562 and they will advise you on berth availability, and accessibility relative to your draft.

Our headquarters are currently in a characterful wartime wooden clubhouse, which has seen many a riotous evening. However by the end of 2006 we are hopeful of moving into a magnificent new building with views over the marina which the marina owners are going to provide. A selection of nautical publications are available to members.

Facilities

Our clubhouse has a fully equipped kitchen which is used to provide food at our various social events. Every member is entitled to a key and may use the clubhouse at any time. We also have an excellent large grass area, courtesy of Swale Marina, in front of the clubhouse overlooking the marina, where we hold, for example, summer BBQ’s, jazz afternoons, etc. or just laze around watching the swans and ducks.

A Newsletter, occasional mail shots and the various Club notice boards all serve to keep members informed of Club activities.

Training and Certificates

CCC is a RYA registered test centre for the International Certificate of Competence (ICC) which is becoming generally required of recreational sailors in mainland Europe.

The club has no formal sail training facilities but one of our members Don Cockrill, will undertake tests for those members wishing to gain the above certificate.
