Organised by the Little Ship Club in association with the Narrow Seas Club
CRUISE OBJECTIVE
The following clubs regularly participate in this fun rally:
Conyer Cruising Club
Royal Temple YC
Benfleet YC
Maldon LSC
Royal Naval SA
The Calais Rally commemorates the involvement of the British in the defence of Calais in WW2 with a short ceremony on The Sunday morning by the war memorial in Calais. A cup is awarded to the club that fields the most boats usually at an evening event in Calais Yacht Club next to where the boats tie up. Upwards of 30 boats can be expected to take part in the rally so it is a lively event.
Conyer boats generally go to Ramsgate on the 1st night before crossing to Calais and again on the return trip.
